Suggestions for Early Post Op Lap Band

New to the forums, been looking for awhile but never posted. Just banded July 12, 2010 with single incision in umbilicus and thought I would pass on a few suggestions for those to follow....

The shoulder pain in the hospital was the worst part. This is from the air they put in the belly and regular gas backed up post op. I wish I had a few extra pillows and a hot water bottle or one of those grain filled microwave things for heat on my shoulders. If I had to do it over again, I would have packed those things...Hot commodities not to be found in the hospital!

Second, have everything ready at home for the first few days post op. I could have gotten my Simethicone, Pepcid, new Fluid diet ahead of time. I had some of it, but if I had to do it again, I would ask the doc for my prescriptions post op in the pre op meeting so I could get them filled and waiting for me when I got home.
