jenniferh 0 Posted November 30, 2005 Well, the tests confirmed today that there is a slippage. Dr. Pupokova removed all the saline(1cc.) and I have to check back with them next week. She thinks that they will have to fix the slip laprascopic. I am devastated to say the least. I have changed my lifestyle completely since the band, do all the right things etc. and then this happens. But Thank you ALL for your support. Alexandra, I will say hello to the doctors, maybe we can meet one of these days.
NJChick 3 Posted November 30, 2005 Oh Jen, I'm sorry. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. HUGS !!!
Alexandra 55 Posted November 30, 2005 Oh, Jen, I'm so sorry!! Maybe it will resolve without any more surgery, but the really good news is that it's been caught and it can be FIXED. The complications bandsters face are headaches, but relatively minor ones in the grand scheme of things. Your note just reminded me that in 20 minutes the Bertha/Abkin support group is going to be meeting. OOPS!! Guess who won't be there? I hope we can connect at the next one (which I hope they will reschedule owing to the holiday craziness). Be good to yourself in the next week--all of those doctors have a way of putting a little too-realistic spin on things; it may turn out to be less serious than they thought. Just be very gentle and try to be optomistic!
La_madam 20 Posted November 30, 2005 Jen have faith, one of our LBT bandsters had slippage( jopnathan) and 1 week on liquids with no fill his band has positioned back into place. Lets hope the same happens for you too. Keeping my fingers crossed and wishing you the best Maybe send Jonathan a private message and get the scoop about his slipped band. Here is his thread you can read. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12163

jillrn 0 Posted December 1, 2005 I agree with alex-- I am a nurse and I have seen lots of GB pt's with severe complications and although annoying slippage and erosion is nothing compared to some of the complications from GB I really hope yours works out without surg! Good luck Jill
Jonathan 5 Posted December 2, 2005 Hi Jennifer, I'm really sorry your band has slipped. Trust me, I know what you're going through. They removed all your saline, and I assume you're on liquids now. Do EXACTLY what they tell you to do. Don't cheat. Not a single bite is worth it. Suck down those liquids, savor your chicken broth, feast on Jello (actually, I feasted on Itallian ice), and stick with it. If it doesn't work, you haven't lost anything, except for a few pounds. And if it does work, you'll be able to count yourself among the truly blessed. I'll be praying for you. Jonathan
