I wrote that post kindof quick, let me elaborate.....

I am newly banded and I dont have fill. I have noticed I am hungrier and hungrier and can eat larger quanties of food.

My doc and I talked about no carbonation and the possibility of throwing up if I ate too much but I havent thrown up. Is it ok if eat 2 cups of food? I know I am suppose to only eat 1 cup at a time. Will I do long term damage? Will I stretch my new stomach? Or if I ate too much wouldnt I just PB?

I dont know if this is something that is just common sense. Did my doc just forget to tell me this or is it understood?:)

After the swelling of surgery goes down and before you've had any fills, the food basically goes right through. I don't think you're in danger of stretching your pouch with 2 cups of food. Once you have proper restriction, you won't be able to eat that much without throwing up.

I have worried about the same thing. I get my first fill on the 22nd and so far I have felt no effects of the band. It is so hard when there is no restriction. I try to eat small amounts but I never feel full!

I am so glad someone else has asked this question. For some reason I am not sure of the amounts of food I should be eating. I was banded on July 1 and have started mushies yesterday. I do not want to mess up what has been done. I will get my first fill on 8/3. Please help!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
