Ninababy 5 Posted July 14, 2010 I was banded on may 27th and I have only lost 20 pounds.. only 7 or 8 since surgery. My doctor was really "stern" with me.. I only got a small fill in.. and it is doing nothing! He just sounded like I really dropped the ball and was not doing my part. So I am feeling really badly even though I tried really hard to keep on track... and I did .. but.. he made it seem like I was really bad Just wonder if I am doing something wrong here? What is everyone losing? and I am really that far behind? I am very discouraged... :-(
The Favorite 0 Posted July 14, 2010 I was banded May 28th and have lost around 20 pounds. I go to the dr tomorrow, and will see what the real loss is! The last couple of weeks I have lost and gained the same 3 pounds and it is discouraging. But, at the same time, I am excited that I have lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I think you are on track. You are only supposed to loose 1 to 2 pounds a week. Don't get discouraged...you are doing great!
Ninababy 5 Posted July 14, 2010 Well mine was 20 from pre op diet to now... I guess it is not too bad.. I have had a hard time the couple weeks too.. and funny.. mine is a 3 pound gain and lose as well. I am going to really try hard to get another 10 off for the next visit... But I feel no restriction from this little fill.. Ugh.. thanks for the response.. I just feel kind of down about not loseing more..
The Favorite 0 Posted July 14, 2010 Are you exercising? I am not good at doing it every day, but I try to walk at least 30 mins every other day. I really aim for every day, but sometimes just dont have time. I work full time, go to grad school full time and am basically a single parent during the week, my husband works out of town 5 days a week. I know that the exercises are key. I finally got past the 3 pounds yesterday! But, I know it was from doing my walking. I didn't change my eating habits...
Ninababy 5 Posted July 14, 2010 yes.. but I could do more.. I have a great recumbent bike that is broken.... I am in the process of getting that fixed .. I have it in front of the televison.. so I am hoping I can hop on that as well as walking..
AngryBaby 2 Posted July 14, 2010 Don't stress it! I've only lost 12 pounds since surgery and I was banded the 25th. I've lost 26 pounds total. I eat right (don't cheat), get tons of Protein, and work out 3-5 days a week 1-2 times a day about 1.5 hours per session. I do cardio, weight lifting, yoga and/or zumba. This is only the beginning for us. We still haven't hit our sweet spot (fill wise) and we're still learning how to use the band appropriately. Don't give up! missgypsy 1 Posted July 15, 2010 i was banded on may 20th and i've lost about 28 lbs. i have had one fill of 4 cc's on june 30th. i do watch what i eat and dont cheat. i do exercise but prob not as much as i should. you are doing good. just remember you may not be loosing as much weight as what you would like but you are probably loosing inches. so i think you are right on track. everyone looses at a diff pace, some faster, some slower. 1-2 lbs a week is normal. good luck and your dr shouldnt make you feel that way. maybe he was just having an off day or something. now when you go back and he acts like that again, ask him. he may not know he is acting like that.
