Sweet Spot and what should I expect

Recommended Posts

I am now 10 months since I was banded and had my 4th fill 2 months ago. Experienced tightness even trying to drink Water, I hear it girgling down and it even gets stuck. I can hardly eat anything without it coming back up and when I do get to eat I seem to fill up really fast. I'm lucky if I get 2oz of meat down.

Is this what they mean by the sweet spot? I'm really concerned and when I talked to my Dr. after the 1st week she said it was time to get aggressive . I understand, but I feel very discouraged about not being able to eat anything.

I even dread going out to dinner with family or friends, because I don't know how and if I can eat without it coming back up.

Any suggestion, and is this what I should be experiencing if it's the sweet spot?

sounds like you are to tight, you should be able to eat enough to get your nutrition in

I had the same problem for months. I couldn't keep anything down but fought having some taken out. I finally broke down and had an unfill last Friday. For the first time in months I can finally eat a little.

So I'm wondering the same thing, how do you tell when you reach your sweet spot. Obviously at 5 cc's it was too tight, now at 3 cc's I fill like I could over eat. Maybe 4 cc's will be the charm

Im at 10cc right now. I go for my 4th fill tomorrow. I think im almost there but i can still definetly eat more than 4oz. I hope i dont get too tight. I experience tightness when i eat and smtimes i experience the tightness with Water. But there are sometimes I feel like i can eat and eat and eat.

I too would like someone to explain in detail what the 'sweet spot' is all about.

am I there and just dont know it? I know that sounds dumb but.. really am I?:)

Called my doctor today and am going in two weeks to have it checked out. They told me to stay on liquid diet till I come in hope that helps.

I thought that in time it would loosen up like it has before and it's been two months and I'm still feeling the same tightness.

All, I know is that I can't stay this way. I'm hungry but don't want to eat because I know the outcome. My doctor said you have to eat small bites, and I am but when you can't even eat yogurt or anything without getting that stuck feeling.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
