SuperNyickMomma 0 Posted July 13, 2010 Yeah! Hurray! Finally after 9 months it is done. First couple days were really ouchy and I couldn't move and felt kinda useless sitting around while everyone else did things for me. So much better now after four days. I can get up and down and take care of my son. Can't pick him up as he is 32 lbs! He is kinda grumpy cause mama is kinda grumpy and he has always been my mirror on emotion. The food {or lack there of} is still murky. I had mashed sweet potato with yogurt and chicken gravy. It was the best thing I have eaten in almost three weeks. Okay...it was the only thing I have eaten in almost three weeks! Today I will try some different veggies and maybe some chicken. Really can't wait to start eating normal everyday foods. nomorejellybelly 77 Posted July 13, 2010 Congratulations. I'm hoping to get banded in August. I think my center suggested liquids for the first few days after banding. I think the most I would try, would be mashed sweet potatoes like you had.

goldngrll 9 Posted July 14, 2010 congrats!! go sloooo !!! your body is still healing!!! my surgeon recommends full liquids for the first 2 weeks.....but that includes cottage cheese, yogurt, puddings/jello in addition to the Protein shakes.. to be honest though, I have only done the shakes...I am afraid to eat I think....I keep hearing slime stories!! but really, I have had a lot of days where I can only get down 1 or 2 shakes and Water...I get full fast!! I also made a shake too thick, and it was really uncomfortable....that turned me off a bit as well but then I was reading of folks just a week out eating tacos!! maybe I'm the wacko, LOL!!! take care, and keep us posted!! SuperNyickMomma 0 Posted July 14, 2010 My surgeon wanted me to do clear liquid for first day, clear/full liquids the next three days and then clear/full liquids and pureed/soft foods up til my two week post op visit. And starting week three I can eat normal everyday sort of foods with the usual restrictions. Had yellow summer squash last night and I was uncomfortable the rest of the night and still feeling kinda yucky right now. So today I am going to sip on my usual fluids and relax and hopefully feel better soon. The sweet potatoes are excellent. I just oven baked them and then mashed them with non fat yogurt and we made our own gravy as I do not like gravy in a jar. I couldn't imagine eating tacos. All those pointy bits and heavy beef!
