There is barely any appetite for the first week post-op.

It's a weird feeling having to force yourself to eat just to get your Protein in.

OMG, I sure hope it's easier! I'm on day 8 of pre-op diet...it is so hard! When is your surgery? I have to stay on Clear Liquids for 24 hours after surgery, then go to full liquids for 2 weeks. That's sounding good right now. I would rather have slmfast and homemade smoothies than all this packaged stuff I have to stay on now!!!!

Everyone's experience is different but I got a good 8 weeks post op where I just wasnt that interested in food. I really had no trouble sticking to the routine and lost huge amounts of weight.

Not to scare you. Everyone is different. Post op

surgery I was hungry 3 days after surgery and Liquids did not do the trick.

I found what help was yogart, sugar free pudding, and about day 8 I was so hungery I scrabbled 1 egg and ate that slowly... FYI Becareful with eggs some people can not handle eggs after surgery. Also a friend who had the lap band a while ago told me about putting Peanut Butter on a spoon and lick it off let it melt on your tongue. that really worked held me for awhile from being hungery.

hope that helps

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
