I think I need some support, I'm most definitely not getting it from friends and family. We're all just too busy. 6 months in I've lost 35 lbs. I feel like a total failure. I know I need a fill, I still eat way too much. I'm at my lowest point emotionally, I don't know what to do.

You are the only one who can change your attitude and your attitude will define how successful you are.

If you want to be successful then do it - call your doctor today, go and get a fill ASAP.

Tonight, put on your tennis shoes and go for a walk. Exercise is great for boosting your morale.

You get to choose if you are going to change your life - what choice do you make?

35 lbs. is 6 months is 1.5 lbs a week. That is a fantastic rate of weight loss.

If you need a fill, get yourself a fill. But don't beat yourself up over 'only' 35 pounds down.

I think we often have unrealistic goals with our bands. Remember 1-2 pounds per week is what we can expect. You are right in there where you should be.

Keep up the great work!

Cocoabean and Windus both said what I was going to say. You are losing the targetted amount while still having good meals.

Best wishes,

Mimi

I think its a matter of perspective. Your 19 so 6 months is 1/38th of your life and seems like a long time, now if you were 40 like me it would be 1/80th and 6 months goes by in the blink of an eye! So the moral of my story is you need patience. At this rate you will be at BMI of 22 about 18 months after surgery! There is nothing wrong with that! Just take it a day at a time. Your doing good.

And now for my new favorite statement "Stop using the F word!"

Why would you feel like a failure losing 35 lbs in 6 months. I have only lost about 46 lbs in 6 months, and I feel like a milliion bucks. You are not a failure. Cont to work hard and the weight will come off, slow but sure. ....Positive thinking wins everytime.....................

Not only are you losing at an impressive rate (1.5 pounds a week, as Leigha pointed out), but you've lost **35%** of your excess body weight. WOW! You should be proud, proud, proud! My surgeon wants a lower percent than that gone in ONE YEAR.

Remember that where you are is better than where you were 35 pounds ago. Don't give up! Go find someone who hasn't seen you in six months, and you'll perk up in NO TIME!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
