waynooo 1 Posted July 11, 2010 You know what I do when I am about to have a snack attack? Have a snack. I surely don't over do it like I used to, but i have a snack if i want one. This way i don't go on an all out binge some day when I crack. good luck
lovinlife4eva 0 Posted July 11, 2010 If it is cleared by your doc, have Peanut Butter. My doc told me a teaspoon of pb helps with those sweet and salty comfort food snack cravings. PB is high in Protein and will fill you up. You cant do it everyday, and u must watch the portion. take your time and suck on the spoon, eating slowly. It has helped me twice when i wanted to grab something BAD!! GOOD LUCK!
LeighaMason 19 Posted July 11, 2010 I plan a snack, every Sunday I get an ice cream. (If I do what I am suppose to during the week!) This gives me motivation to act right during the week, (If I don't get up and run I can't have ice cream on Sunday!) Plus, then it gives me a reason not to snack during the week. (You can't have ice cream its not Sunday!) Works for me....Guess what? Today is SUNDAY! YAY!
marykb 0 Posted July 12, 2010 When I feel like that, I just eat a few bites of something and that helps. Maybe 1 or 2 Triscuits, instead of a dozen.
btrieger 21 Posted July 12, 2010 Brushing your teeth will curb the cravings also. Who wants to dirty their clean teeth. I haven't had ice cream since February and don't really miss it. A cup of fat free yogurt satisfies me just as much. I do have pudding cups and baked chips (not together) every couple of days.
rocketray 0 Posted July 12, 2010 If it's within reason you should have it. Just watch your Portion Control. I bought some frozen Krusteaz blueberry pancakes the other day, they have Protein and with sugar free Syrup it's a decent Breakfast for a change. Reality is that all kinds of food will always be in your life. Sometimes if you deny, deny then it becomes an obsession. Thin people eat what they want but in moderation. Think thin! ELJB 0 Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks everyone for the great ideas!!! I am scared to take that first bite of what I call junk food for fear that I won't be able to quit!!! But, the next time the snack attack happens, I'm going to try a few small bites, chewing slowly to savor the favor, and enjoy!!
btrieger 21 Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks everyone for the great ideas!!! I am scared to take that first bite of what I call junk food for fear that I won't be able to quit!!! But, the next time the snack attack happens, I'm going to try a few small bites, chewing slowly to savor the favor, and enjoy!! If the excess junk is not immediately available, you will quit. If candy bars; buy the smallest you can find and only 1. If icecream; by a single serving. If chips; buy the little 7/8 ounce bag. Buying in bulk may save you money but it won't save your life.
