jln0424 0 Posted July 11, 2010 soooo...random question that just came up, i'm not on birth control because they didnt want me to be on it for 2 months before surgery. i'm having my lap band surgery this tues 7/13 so in 2 days!!! Of course at this wonderful time, my monthly friend came, any one have any thoughts or had this happen to them? can they still do the surgery? i've looked it up online, and i got mixed answers some saying yes, some saying no they might have to bump back my surgery date. i've been waiting for this surgery for like 2 months now..i can't bump it back..so im a little concerned. JBGMoore 0 Posted July 12, 2010 Hi. I was on mine when I had my surgery done. They let me wear my cotton panties and a pad. They said that was fine. Don't worry it should be ok.
crzytchr 3 Posted July 12, 2010 I was on mine and it wasn't an issue. I was mortified, but it didn't phase them at all.
PamD0630 0 Posted July 12, 2010 I was banded on June 30th and had mine. They allowed me to wear pad and panties no problem.
betrthnever 107 Posted July 15, 2010 I was. They had me keep a boat of a pad between my legs - no underwear - and that was that. Less then a year later I had a hysterectomy. Bye bye pads!

carissarenae1986 0 Posted July 21, 2010 Yea.. I'm pretty sure they can still do it. I know for mine they put a catheter in, so that could be a little awkward, lol.. Don't worry about it. They have seen it all before!
hopeful41411 0 Posted July 21, 2010 Hope all went well for you! I started mine when I showed up at the hospital too.
txredgirl36 0 Posted August 5, 2010 I started my period the morning before I went in for surgery and they gave me these mesh panties and a giant pad. No problems at all, I was having cramps before surgery and then afterwards they were all gone. This was a major plus since I usually have 2 days of painful cramps!
