Am I on Track?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

September ------> weighed 420

Banded in December-> weighed 385

Current weight ------> 330

Based on my stats, am I on track? I admit to having no exercise program other than having a very physical job. I know I have to exercise but it's hard.

Thanks!!

I've only been banded for 7 days, so what do I know?

But in my opinion, I think you are doing awesome!

you are supposed to lose an average of 1 - 2lb per week. You have lost 55lb in approx 27 weeks.I think that you are doing well.

You didn't gain a lot of weight. So, you are on track. There is no track. everyone is different and as long as you are losing and feeling good. Then keep going.

Congrats on your progress. You're doing great!!

You are doing great and like btrieger said, everyone is different. I had hoped to be further along than I am, but I have had complication along the way. I am extremely happy with my loss so far and know I have a lot more to go...enjoy your journey and do not get caught up in the numbers.

Nope, I think you should have lost about twice that. Just kidding. It's Friday and I'm fixing to leave and just couldn't resist being silly. I think you are doing very well. Have a great weekend.

Wow, thanks for all of the encouragement. I find that when I count calories, I have an easier time with dropping weight. I've begun to use a cool app on my itouch and it's actually fun!! Also, I'm proud that I can sit down and remember EVERYTHING I ate in one day, down to coffee and mustard...

You're right. Exercise is hard! I know many people on here start exercising immediately, but I didn't. I didn't start until I was 11 months out and had lost nearly 100 lbs. This worked well for me and I've kept up my exercise ever since. The whole gym thing is so much easier when you've lost some weight. You'll get started at some point and you will feel great doing it!

Congratulations on your success!

Cindy

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
