New Inspiration to Exercise

Recommended Posts

I've got to admit, that the past few weeks, life has given me plenty of reasons not to exercise. I've submitted to it and made excuses for not showing up at the gym. My hubby, who usually says nothing to me about this kind of stuff, has even mentioned in passing my slackness lol .. not out of meanness, but because he knows I feel better when I've been to the gym.

When I started losing weight after being banded and joined the gym, I walked to a near by fitness clothing shop. They have some absolutely amazing workout clothes in styles I'd never seen, but nothing to fit me. It was discouraging to say the least (don't get me started on how stupid it is to not offer workout clothes for the ppl who need them most lol).

So when my hubby mentioned we'd have to work late tonight, he said, "but you could go to the gym after work while I finish up if you want?" I thought .. suuuure lol. But at lunch I went to the shop that didn't have anything to fit me before. This time, I could fit into their gear and if I do say so myself, I look amazing in it LOL. So I bought a couple of pieces and can't wait now, for the day to end so I can pop into the gym :)

Who would have thought new clothes would make me feel like getting sweaty hehe

What the heck .. thought I'd even take a picture hehe. Ignore the gym hair and big feet (my feet really aren't that big but I liked the shoes and they only had them in one size larger than I normally take, so I bought em anyway lol..) Surprisingly, even running on the treadmill, this top managed to hold in my massive mammories LOL. They didn't budge!

Thanks fee and Kel :)

What a beautiful picture, that actually bought tears to my eyes when I thought about how utterly fantastic you must feel. I eye workout clothes enviously too.

Did you know you're an inspiration to me? Similar start weight, similar goal weight, same surgeon and even NSV's that I covet, lol. You have done a really really remarkable job, you should be darn proud of yourself.

Wow, lady, you look great!! That's what I need, some new workout clothes. Ohhhh, Saaaantaaaaa!! :)

Seriously, it really does help. You are so right!! I'm getting an MP3 player in a few days and I'm hoping that will spur me to get my butt back to the gym. I'm in holiday mode and there's ALWAYS a reason to go somewhere else after work. Bad, bad, bad.

Wow you look great! Love the outfit too! I have to agree, the last few weeks I haven't done a thing. I have been so busy with the holidays, but I need to get my butt back in gear too! Thanks for the post! :D

Jess, you inspired me to workout today for the first time in a month. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical - woo hoo! I can't wait to trade my big t-shirts in for some cute workout gear!! :D

*blushing* thanks everyone!! I tell ya, I haven't felt that good at the gym in ages. Last night was one of my best workouts so far. May seem silly, but not wearing my sweatpants and oversized tshirts just did the trick for me.

Jachut, thank you so much for the kind words. You're going to do great in this, because you're head is on straight and its obvious you've got a strong determination!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
