I had the LAP-BAND® put on , on 8-2-08. I have been able to keep off 70 lbs. The past couple of months I have been sick and in a lot of pain. I had a x-ray done and it showed by band had slipped to the bottom of my stomach. I will need to have the band put back into place. Has this happened to anyone? What could be the cause. One of the side effects is reflex, which is not fun at all.

:)

Hi Themo123:

My band slipped too. I'm having a revision surgery on 7/20. Can you please tell me what the revision surgery is like compared to the original banding surgery?

Thanks.

Sue

Hi, I was in the hospital overnight. My band was repositioned. It was the same thing like getting a new band. Once it was fixed, I have been fine. Mona

Yikes! What causes a slip? Is there anything you remember doing or something that can be avioded?

I get pain now and then all over my midsection (banded 5 months ago) and it usually goes away. I just chalk it up to the band and my age :tt2:..just aches and pains

Speaking of age, the weight loss seems alot slower than some of the youngsters on this site..also, my hair started falling out about 6 weeks ago but I started taking Biotin tablets and it stopped! Who da thunk.

Hope you are ok now...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
