I need help getting my big butt back on the wagon.

Ok, so here is the deal. I have been way off track for far too long. I just need some encouragement. I am finding it really hard to not eat everything in sight at night when I get home from work. I get up at 2:30 am and get home at 4:30 pm most nights. Through the day I can refrain from overeating. I hold myself to around 500 cal or so. But when I get home It is a whole different story. It has been 18 mo since last fill. I made another apointment on Aug. 10. I went pre surgery 323 pounds down to 212. I am guessing myself at around 250 or so. I am very ashamed to even go to the doc. Well anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

Why wait so long for a fill? Don't put it off thinking to lose wt BRFORE the fill. You need what the band can offer and when you get some decent restriction you will start losing again and feel better. You have done well so far and just took a break. The beauty of the band is that it is there waiting for you.

Best wishes,

Mimi

Hey, we've heard it all before! Don't ever avoid your doc, and therefore not get the fill you need, because you've been "bad". They've heard it all too and just want to help you get back on track. They can't do that if you don't come in. BTW, 500 cal is not going to hold you all day; no wonder you're ready to eat the couch when you get home. Try to add in a few high quality calories during the day so you are not so deprived at the end of it.

Don't cheat yourself adequate food intake. A calorie deficit of 500-750 derived from a combination of diet and exercise is all that is needed for good fat loss. Spreading your calories throughout the day will reduce the likelihood that you'll binge eat later in the day. Also keep trigger foods out of your environment.

Good luck and remember that it takes an extraordinary effort to achieve an extraordinary result.

Under eating during the day sets me up for snacking at night. If I get really hungry I stay that way for the rest of the day, so I eat 3 small meals (250 cal each) with 2 or 3 planned Snacks (150 cal each)

Good luck

I agree with everyone-- and as a man, (I assume this given your screen name!) -- you are way undereating during the day. Even for a small woman, 500 cals would be too little). I would suggest that you need to at least DOUBLE your day-time intake to 1000 cals. Then eat a healthy dinner.

You are eating everything in sight because you are starving yourself during the day!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
