If you think you are having a heart attck you should go to emergency immediately. Never mess around with chest pain.

(It is quite common if you are stuck to feel chest pain but if this had happened you would know that it was because you were stuck as the pain would be immediate).

Better to be safe than sorry.

Not sure when you were banded... but it sounds like trapped gas in your chest. Try walking around, try gas x strips.... and when you're sitting down try and heating pad over the area. Walking is usually the best though!! Good Luck!! Hope you feel better soon! Some say the gas is worse than the incision pain!

I had the same pain you are talking about when first banded and through the first six to eight weeks. It is slowely easing though. Good luck I hope you start feeling better soon.

As others mention, walk and heating pad. It's built up gas. Sometimes the pain is so tough, if I move a certain way it feels a little better. I notice if I sit up straighter rather than slouched it feels better. Or laying on my side.

Were you recently banded? If not, get to the hospital.

I've had a heart attack and my chest felt just fine.

I've also had pneumonia and it felt like my lungs were on fire.

Dehydration can't also cause your lungs to hurt.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
