Hey everyone, I have decided to step my workout game up a notch. I have been at a complete standstill in weightloss for about 2 weeks. And I assumed it was because I wasn't working out. At first I was just dropping weight but here lately, I haven't been doing so good.

If any of you workout at the gym, could you give me some good routines that you follow. Let me know machines, reps, cardio, strengh...the whole 9??

Thanks!

I can't say that I knock my socks off, but I started out this journey by walking, then progressed to using the strength machines at the "Y" and the elliptical. I get bored easily so hubby and I mix it up. Hiking, walking outside, taking different and new walking paths, elliptical when it's crappy or hot outside or bike riding.

A decent workout for me is 1/2 hour on the elliptical and about 25 minutes on the strength machines. It sincerely helps that hubby and I motivate each other to at least do something every day.

Whatever you decide to do, I really recommend some sort of strength/weight training. It has really helped with toning and also with some nagging back pain I've had for years. I think my arms would look really bad had I not done this.

Good luck with your workouts!

It's my understanding that if you vary your workouts you kind of trick your body into loosing more fat. Your muscles don't have a chance to get used to the workout. I vary between treadmill, bike and step aerobic routing I do at home.

Another thing is to do "interval training". That is were you go medium pace for a couple minutes then very fast for a couple minutes. I do 3 minutes medium then 2 minutes very fast. I find it makes the time go by faster too. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
