Banded June 28th... Monday. Very sore.

My doctor wants me to drink from these 1 oz. cups...like the kind you get with cough medicine... every 15 min.! How important is it to drink that much that often. I'm not thirsty or hungry at all.

Tonight I heard the first stomach sounds... is that good or bad?

Sounds a bit weird but your doctor knows best, I was drinking normally after mine but only your surgeon knows what went down during your surgery, so its probably best to follow his guidelines for now. Or call him if your really concerned. As for the noises, I'd say they are normal! Haha so don't worry! My partner was getting quite annoyed at my constant "gurgle gurgle" but it'll go away :) so cheer up and enjoy the ride! Xoxo

It's definitely very important to drink it! Don't force yourself if you truly feel full, but drink as much as you can. They say the most popular complication with the surgery is dehydration.

Good luck!

My Dr. also gave me the little cups to drink out of every 15 minutes...I gave it up the third day when I realized I can drink normal. I became very dehydrated so it is very important you keep dinking!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
