abrewer6 0 Posted June 30, 2010 Hello, I was wondering how people paid for surgery if insurance wont cover? Does anyone have any ideas? I want this surgery so bad!!!!
btrieger 21 Posted June 30, 2010 You can take a loan. There are loan companies out there that specialize in medical loans. If you have enough credit on your credit card, you may also charge the surgery.
Humming Bird 275 Posted June 30, 2010 Where do you live? Have you checked around with surgeons in the area for self-pay prices? I financed my surgery with HealthOne. I went to Denver for surgery ($9,950) www.lapbandrockies.com
dennii25 1 Posted June 30, 2010 Where do you live? There may be programs in your area that are reasonably priced for cash pay patients. I paid $13,000 total and charged it all to two different cards that I will pay off with my savings. You can also get a loan, there are companies that provide loans specificaly for medical procedures. Your surgeon should have information regarding financing. A good thing about paying cash is that everything goes very quick, you get to choose your surgeon and hospital, and you don't have to worry about jumping through all of the insurance hoops. Good luck.
katbabie34 0 Posted June 30, 2010 Why did the insurance company refuse to pay? You can't say it is medically necessary? That is what happened to me with my insurance but then I got lucky and my company switched insurance companies and the new insurance paid. Good luck to you!
