Howdy! I spent last week in Nags Head, NC with my parents, adopted sister (house #1), brother, SIL, 6 nieces/nephews (house #2), and another group of 8 that included 3 children under the age of 2 (house #3). As you are reading this post, I'm sure that you are re-reading the title of this post to verify that I did, indeed, have a great vacation. :yikes:

We went dolphin watching, climbed a lighthouse, shopped, swam, dined out, etc., etc. Even though the temps were at least 92 degrees or higher with a heat index of 105+ everyday, I was able to keep up without any problems! :) I actually was not the largest person on the beach (or even in my group). It was a great feeling looking at the pics of my vacation and not being completely disgusted with my appearance.

PS~ I even lost 3 pounds while on my trip. :)

I actually had to reread the top to be sure I hadn't written it. I was in the outer banks first of June and I must say it is my fav place. I too was not as worried about how I looked and it was great to have clothes I can breathe in. I lost 3 pounds on vac. Had a fill the week I got back and haven't lost anything else. Glad your vacation was a sucess.

Congrats to both of you. I love the Outer Banks. I haven't been there is a few years, but it was a wonderful place to go with extended family. There is something for everyone there.

I don't go on vacation until the end of July. We're headed to Cape Cod this year, but I hope I can write the same post when we get back.

Cindy

I just got back from clubmed. They have Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. My portions were a little large, but ate the right things. Higher in fat then I usually eat, but all lowcarb. I gained 1 pound (hopefully Water retention). I was very proud of myself for resisting the bread, rice and Desserts.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
