The hardest park of this whole darn journey thus far for me has been remembering to seperate liquids and solids. It's just such a habit I have has for well 39 years now..lol It just dosnt seem normal to not have a glass with a meal.

It just takes practice or getting stuck. You'll learn quick if it causes you to get stuck.

It only took me one time to break the habit.

And yet logic would tell me just the opposite .. if I were to get something stuck now I would want a liquid in hopes of pushing it down

If it is stuck, it is stuck and liquids will not push it down, only make you hurt more and probably make you vomit.

Just do not put a glass on the table for yourself at meal times. If you are in a restaurant tell the waiter to take it away. You can't drink it if it is not there!:)

How long have you been banded?

It does get easier to do - you will find that it is not so easy to swallow unchewed food without a drink, so you are forced to chew better. That is a good thing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
