Sissy 0 Posted November 27, 2005 My doctor requires his patients to be on Optifast for two weeks prior to surgery. Five shakes a day , plus SF popsicles,SF Jello, broth and of course Water. I only have two more days to go, surgery on Tuesday. I have had some hard days, but I have managed to keep to it. I'm hoping this will make it easier after surgery when I have to be on liquids for two weeks. Mushies never sounded so good!!!!!
Jachut 487 Posted November 27, 2005 Well done, I have renewed respect for those who get through it. My warped mind thinks liquids and mushies will be easier if I"m well and truly tanked up beforehand, roflmao!!

Jachut 487 Posted November 28, 2005 He rang me this morning, no I dont have to do it. I'm going to do 2 meals a day though - Breakfast and dinner, since I've started anyway, why waste the weekend's good work? I'm just going to have lunch, I'm very active and it was not having that top up midday that was difficult. Dinner's easy since I just go to bed a few hours afterwards anyway and to Breakfast I dont find hard either. Would you believe I made 24 cupcakes and a ton of chocolate chip Cookies and didnt eat ANY? didnt even swipe a tiny bit from the mixing bowl

horsecrazy 0 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi Everyone, I have a bmi of 35 and my dr has me on 1 week of Meal Replacement shakes and some green vegies if I get hungry. HUNGRY, I'M STARVING!! Only a couple more days. I did cheat a little today and ate 1 oz of chicken breast. I feel better now. Lou Ann
Dragonwillow 0 Posted November 28, 2005 Don't skip dinner all together..if you don't want alot of calories, just do a lite protien shake, or eat a lite dinner. Skipping meals can be as bad as over eating too. I lost 7lbs in the 3 weeks before my surgery, mostly did protien shakes and lite Soups. You have to keep your body strong before surgery. Just try and stay low carb. Good luck I'm sure you will do great. Melissa
