Tootarts 0 Posted November 26, 2005 I was wondering if anyone knows if there doctor puts a stitch in there band? My Doctor says he always puts one stitch to hold it in place. He said he also places the band higher up on the stoma because he feels the slippage is less? Has anyone heard of this? Tootarts
chichigirl 1 Posted November 26, 2005 Yes, my doctor also stitches the band in place and always has. He says it should prevent slippage, which is a good thing. As far as how high on the stomach he went, I don't have a clue, but it's probably what you're doctor has found to work best for him. Cindy
mousecrazy 2 Posted November 26, 2005 My doctor explained the process of stitching the stomach up and over the band, or something like that. He told me that it reduces the likelihood of slipping or eroding. I sure hope that's right! Cindy
Spydr 0 Posted November 26, 2005 I too have my band stitched inplace. Have some really neat pictures of Dr Jay doing the stitching.
porclndoll 0 Posted November 26, 2005 from what i understand its like they make a belt loop with your stomach to hold the band in its place.. but just like a tiny pinch of the stomach~not enough to stitch the whole band...hope that helps
