The Favorite 0 Posted June 25, 2010 I was banded on May 28th. I am down 18 pounds, which I think is pretty good. I haven't lost any weight this week, and its kind of bumming me out. I am having a hard time getting my Protein in. Protein Shakes make me want to vomit. I just can't do them anymore. I was trying to do at least one per day, but its not working for me. I really need some advice as to what I should do. I don't want to lose my hair! I can't wait until I can have actual food! Im still on the pureed diet...ugh.. btrieger 21 Posted June 25, 2010 Throw a chicken breast into the blender or food processor, mix in some fat free Miracle Whip and you have yourself pureed food chalk full of Protein. What is it about Protein shakes you don't like? Is it the flavor? Texture? Look? I could live on Optifast for the rest of my life if need be.
maries 0 Posted June 25, 2010 i'm being banded this coming monday and to prep for surgery i've been using muscle milk light in chocolate flavor. of all Protein Drinks i've tried, this tastes the most like real chocolate milk, is not gritty and does not smell or taste vitamin-y. since i am so fussy about textures and smells, this is a perfect fit for me. congratulations on your weight loss -- i'm down 17lbs pre-op and am so pumped about continued weight loss with the band. i wish you continued success! The Favorite 0 Posted June 27, 2010 I have used the Bariatric Advantage and the nectar. I don't like anything about them. I can handle the Nectar once in a while. I guess I am just worried....I dont feel any restriction and feel hungry all of the time....
Murpel 0 Posted July 30, 2010 I hope you have had some answers since your post. There are SO many options to add Protein to your food.< /p> BariatricEating.com has a product called PURE which is a flavorless whey isolate that you can add to any food, Soup, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, anything. I understand that GNC also carries something similar. Whole Foods carries a bulk item called, Chia Seeds. (yes, the same seeds) If you add 2tsp to any liquid, it will help you stay full much longer, not to mention if you have 2 tsp with each meal, it's all the Fiber you would need for a day. (they create a kind of gel when they get wet, so you could make "cakes" out of the seeds if you wanted to. The Chia seeds and the protein isolate were both info from my nut. Hope it helps!
