Recommended Posts

Sometime I get a pain on my left side more towards mt back? Does anyone get this when they have eaten too much. Thre are cetain things that I can eat more of before feeling the fullness in my stomach but several times i know ive eaten more than usual and get a side pain. Does any one else experience this or any other feelings of being too full.

I have this same problem! Mine is at the same level as my belly button. I asked my surgeon about it and he said that there was nothing over there and even if I ate too much, it wouldn't hurt there.

I saw my pcp today and she told me that there wasn't anything there either. Her only thought was that there may be scar tissue on my small intestine somewhere that sometimes pulls and that is why it hurts. She told me if it doesn't stop in a couple of weeks, to see the surgeon again.

I get it, too! For awhile, I thought I was crazy, but then I realized that I only get it after dinner and if I stretch to my right, I can make it go away. It can't be anything too serious....or at least that's what I tell myself.

I also get this, it feels like when you go swimming right after you eat and you get a bad cramp. I thought I was the only one, glad to hear I am not alone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
