So today, as usual I stepped on the scale. It read the numbers I knew it would...a loss of 24lbs. AWESOME? YES! Sometimes though, it is discouraging. I am a compulsive weigher and that will never change. It keeps my eating into perspective...(yes, my band does the biggest part of the perspective part) and that will never change either. I took my measurements a while back after my surgery. I thought to myself today, let me see, although my clothes fit differently, and I am in between sizes, and some STILL do not fit, let me see what kind of change my body has done. I couldn't believe it, after measuring all the parts that I did before...I have a total loss of 30 inches. This is fantastic for me. It keeps my spirits up and I know I have made the right decision. Do I slip up sometimes and eat the wrong foods? YES. Who doesn't? As I said in a previous post, it takes a while to reprogram years and years of bad choices and eating. I am 55 days out and loving my life AND MY BAND. I wear better clothes, I am more active, and I cannot help but be so very excited for what is to come. I would make this choice 100 times over again.

I LOVE being a BANDITA!

Congrats!!!

There is nothing wrong with weighing yourself 100 times a day. Just record it once a week or once a month and you will be able to see the weight loss happening.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
