J_True 0 Posted June 22, 2010 Hey, I'm scheduled for my first fill tomorrow and my doctor hasn't given me any instructions, so I did a little research tonight in preparation. I found a site that said not to schedule fills when your menstruating because Fluid retention affects fill levels. :smile2: Now, of course I'm on my period and don't know what I should do. Should I cancel? I made the appointment weeks ago and didn't realize it'd be that time of the month. Has anyone had an adjustment while on their periods? Is it even possible? What did your surgeons say about it? Also, what else should I do to prepare? Do I need to not eat or drink anything before? It's being done via fluoroscopy. I'm so confused. juliansmom2003 3 Posted June 22, 2010 My doc"s instructions are always no food or drink after midnight, no matter what time I go (appts are always in the mornings anyway). I had my first fill while on my period, and I didn't know if the reason I didn't feel any difference was because it was only my first fill or having my period or both. I asked the doc and I got my favorite answer that everyone is different. Sometimes you look more restricted due to your period and some aere unaffected. My doc books 3 to 4 weeks out too, so if I were you and there is no charge, I'd go get one. You can always schedule another if you need more :-) Good luck!
