Ok so I had surgery 11/22/09 and I had lost 87 lbs...Over the last month and a half I have gained back 12 lbs. I have had one fill for 2cc's and am scheduled to go tomorrow to get another fill. I hope it will help as I have to admit that I have been able to eat much more than the first two months after surgery. Quite honestly a week after the fill I had I couldnt tell any difference from before the fill.

I am currently in grad school working on my MBA and I have recently fallen victim to stress eating over the past couple months.

I'm currently doing a liquid diet for two and a half days (Half because I got frustrated last night and ate dinner.).

Just frustrated and hoping that I havent stretched the pouch too much or caused a slip or something.

Thanks all,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Sorry you're having such a difficult time this last month and a half. I bet the new fill will start helping. You just have to stick to the "rules of the tool", no more than 1/2-3/4 cup at a sitting, 75% Protein & 25% good carbs (track your food, it's so easy to forget and over do it!), 64 ounces of Water (30 min before and 1 hour after eating), at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. I kinda know what you're going through, I've been on a 6 month stall...lost 7 pounds in 6 months! It was, however because I was not following the "rules". They really are important to the weightloss process. Once I started following them again, the weight started coming off again! Good luck with everything! It can definately be a difficult lifestyle change...ya just gotta do it, for you! ;-) I'll be rooting for ya!

Thanks,

Your right, I do need to get back to my previous levewl of dilligence. I will say that I hope after the fill I feel like I did for the first few months. I wasnt very hungry at all, and I was getting full off of very little food. I'm really hoping the fill wil help with hunger as that has been the biggest challenge lately. I have been eating more than the 1/2-3/4 cup, but not near what I unsed to in a sitting! The biggest frustration is the frequency of my hunger. I eat, two hours later im hungry, I eat, three hours later i'm hungry again!

I just want to get back to where this tool is helping me control my hunger, as the 87 lbs lost was due directly to its curing my Portion Control issues and curbing my hunger.

I really enjoyed those first few months. It was the first time in my life I felt like I had control of my hunger levels

Yes, it definately sounds like you need a fill! I'll bet that will help ya! Hope so, I know this can be a frustrating journey at times...don't let it get ya down though...be persistant and it'll happen for you! I went in for my check ups every three months after my surgery and they gave me a fill every time and sometimes in between that! I felt like I was having them all the time! It sounds like your doc hasn't given you enough of them...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
