Last week not one pound lost!!!!

Recommended Posts

Last week I exercised 5 days a week, mind you I may have ate about 1100 calories a few days last week but still, the scale did not move 1lb!!!!!! I am about 7 weeks post op, I have been losing about 3lbs a week since surgery but nothing last week. Is this normal? Am I not doing something right? I am really giving my all when exercising, today I did 50minutes and burned 324 calories which I think is really good. Any suggestions out there to get my weight loss back on track? I have had one fill so far, 3.66cc's.

It is completely normal to have weightloss stall. You have done great! Your weight will flucuate with hormones, Water retention et... Try not to let it get you down. Sounds like you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work!

My fingers seem a little swollen and rings a little tighter. Is there anything you recommend to get rid of the excess Fluid? What causes that?

Are you getting enough Water in? Sounds like you're retaining Fluid. Mine get like that before my TOM. Believe me, the scale will be fickle during this initial time after surgery. You won't see any movement then BAM! Down 4 or 5! Hang in there, you're doing great!

I was banded on April 27. The past three weeks was very stable. I saw my surgeon and made changes to my diet. Actually increased my calorie intake and lost 5 lbs for this week's weigh-in.

Do not give your body the same thing every single day or it will learn how to adapt and stabilize. Mix up your exercise routine, calorie intake, and Fluid intake. It really has helped me.

I def am not getting 64oz of Water in everyday prob. closer to 40oz. And I am doing the treadmill everyday but different routine on it but getting bored, I guess I will try the bike too, not too big on the eliptical machine not very coordinated for that.

The way my body loses is to go down for a few weeks then stabilize for a few, then lose, then stablize. Once I saw the pattern, and realized my average was around a pound a week, I was OK with it. Sometimes we can swear by the math that the loss should be there, but it just isn't. Then the next week, when the math says we should not lose, there it will be.

Hang in there. Our bodies are wonderful machines, but they don't always follow our specs!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
