I was banded 1 week ago tomorrow. Still on liquid diet until friday. My stomach keeps growling  I am so hungry. Grape juice, apple juice, chicken broth, Jello, all these things just aren't cutting it. And oh the Protein Shakes. TASTE AWEFUL!!!!

Hang in there! You will get passed this phase and onto a whole new life. I don't regret having the band, just wish I had done it sooner. Once you heal, and get restriction you will feel so much better. You can do it!

Completely understand! Was craving an egg salad sandwich today for lunch and I don't know if the grocery store will let me in after what I tried to do to the Jello section!

can you eat creamed Soups? i ate a lot of creamed soups with all the chunks strained out when i was on a liquid diet. the consistency is a little thicker so maybe it will make you feel full longer? just a thought.

p.s. i also mixed some unflavored Protein Powder in it to bump up my Protein count.

You'll be fine in a short time. The first 2 weeks ARE hell. I used sugar free popsicles and fudgesicles to help cut the cravings. If you like Mexican food the recipie for enchillada Soup on lapband.com dshboard is great and very filling. hang in there and best wishes.

You might also look for Kefir (made by Lifeway) in your grocery store. Sometimes it is in the healthfood section. It is like a yogurt smoothie, but not as sweet (no artificial sweeteners). It has 11 grams of Protein per 8 oz and I really like the taste. It is thick, but still liquid. I find it satisfying.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
