Any one use Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement???

Recommended Posts

I bought the Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement at the suggestion of my surgerons office. It's the product they sell in the office. The dietician spoke of it in her classes stting that it did not have the aftertaste like other protein products. They suggeted this product because of the protein is from a high quality whey protein isolate.

they gave me a sample of the vanilla pre surgery to try. I mixed it with 2% milk and it wasn't bad.

Post surgery, I bought this product in chocolate flavor. I've been mixing with 1% milk. I DO NOT LIKE THEM! They are very thick and just do not taste good to me. I can not drink an entire 8oz serving. I tried to make 4oz servings. Drank most of it but still didn't like it. I tried 6oz of milk and powder for 4oz to make it less strong. still no luck :smile2:

Does anyone else use this product?? Do you mix anything in it? Do you use a different brand Protein shakes?

any suggestions will be appreciated.

I use it and love it. chocolate only. Here is my recipe - blender add small amount of chipped ice, one cup skim milk, 4-5 frozen strawberries, 2 scoops of powder and 1/4 cup Water. Blend.

It is thick and I eat it with a spoon. Feel like Thanksgiving dinner when I finish it and full for 4 hours after.

Good luck - hope this helps.

I gotta tell you...I think I have tried every Protein Powder out there and really don't like any of them. I finally found something that works for me--mixing my chocolate Protein Shakes with light chocolate soy milk. REALLY improves the flavor. Just my two cents.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
