Just out of interest, wonder if you could share your normal daily eating habits that keep you where you are.

Breakfast cant normally eat so start the day with a latte.

lunch is normally Soup and maybe a yoghurt

dinner is normally some cassarole with a bit of potato/pumpkin and veg.

snack, my daily treat is some ice cream.

I never eat biscuits, rice, Pasta or unminced meat

I have a muscle milk light as soon as I get up.

Breakfast (around 10) is either whole grain cream of wheat with a tsp of sugar free jelly and a cheese stick or a breakstone's cottage cheese doubles.

lunch (around 2)is either left over dinner from the night before or a lean cuisine

dinner (around7)is about 4-5 oz of chicken or beef with 1/4 cup of rice and veggie

If I get hungry before bed, I'll do 1/2 cup fat free ice cream or a muscle milk or cheese stick.

I have an 8oz Protein shake when I first get up.

9:30am - 1/2 cup of Protein plus total Cereal with a tiny bit of skim plus milk.

11:30am - 1 cheese stick

12:45 - 4-5 oz white chicken in a can with FF mayo

5:00pm - 5-6 oz chick or fish with veggies

sugar free Ice pops in between meals and after dinner.

I only do ice cream once a month. To many calories for me.

Breakfast choices: an egg flip, or some sort of fruit smoothie (never use Protein powders), porridge or muesli, occasionally an egg on toast

Lunches: salads (mixed salad veg, usually with a can of flavoured tuna or chicken), some pine nuts and olive oil and salt and pepper as a dressing, Soups such as ministrone, zucchini and leek, lentil, vegie etc, sometimes I make a sandwich (I like the bread toasted) and have tuna and salad in it, a regular weekend treat is a good old meat pie and sauce!

Dinner: lots of meat and 3 veg meals such as chops, mashed potato and pumpkin and vegies, roasts, we do eat Pasta, Soups, casseroles, curries, the list for dinners is much more varied than for breakfasts and lunches. Lots of barbies in the summer time.

I do eat rice and Pasta, try to make it the brown variety though.

I stay away from sugar basically - biscuits, cakes, muffins.

Daily treats will be somethiign like a cappucino (and as you know, that's not such an indulgence here in Australia, its just milk and coffee, not milk, coffee, Syrup, whipped cream etc), and I do like a glass of wine at night. Very occasional treat is a Baileys.

I'm generally eating 1800 calories a day or so.

Most days I'd run about six kms or go to bootcamp or boxing.

I didnt realise that USA made them that way, no wonder it seems indulgent. I cant function without mine (perhaps an addiction that I should deal with).

I don't 'not' eat Pasta, rice or meat because of the calories but because my band hates them:blush:.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
