Cool App - Droid Incredible Phone

Recommended Posts

After an unfortunate incident with my Blackberry and the swimming pool  I had to buy a new phone.

I got a Droid Incredible and found a very cool app. It is called MyTracks and it is put out by Google. When I go out to walk every night I turn it on and it uses the GPS in the phone and it tracks me as I walk. Every 5 minutes (you can set whatever time you like) it tells me how far I have gone, how long I have been walking and my average speed. Then it uploads it all into Google Docs so I have a record of exactly what I did every night. It is nice to have a exact record and then you can challenge yourself with longer distances and faster speed, etc.

I would not be surprised if there is a version for IPhone as well but I did not look.

This is a super cool app!!!! Thanks for sharing!! I installed it and used it tonight on my walk and it's really cool and easy tracking, you can save it too.... ONE thing... haha... Don't hold your phone in your hand while walking if you swing your arms.. It seems to use motion as determining your speed, so i think mine may have been overestimated a little!!

Otherwise, tHaNkS for SHARING !!!!

Another cool app for your Droid is RunTracker and it's free as well. It uses GPS and can change mode from running/walking/biking/hiking/even swimming lol. Also allows to share your workout on facebook/twitter and map it all. I like it cause it allows friends n family to give u that extra push encouragement when they see it. :bored: (I work for Verizon)

Thanks for the tip on not holding it in your hand while walking. Another valuable tip - LOL - don't stick your phone into the front of your swimming suit and forget it is there - they don't swim well!

LOL - I put my suit on under my walking clothes so I can jump in the pool and do my Water exercises after I get home - learned my valuable lesson the hard way!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
