Hi my name is Erica. It has been three weeks since my LAP-BAND® surgery. For the last three days I have been having sudden nausea accuring. It's mostly happening at night. I feel like I have to throw up and I have slight soreness to my stomach. Has anyone experienced this, or know what it would be from? Do I have anything to worry about?

Hi Erica,

I had surgery on May 4th of this yyear and I experience nausea in the afternoons a few days out of the week. Its gotten better as time passes.I think the worst of it was around the time I was ready to start trying solids because I was HUNGRY. LOL

If it continues, I would talk to your Dr about it. Thats what I did with mine!

Good luck!

Hi ERica,

I experienced nausea the first week or so after surgery. I assumed it was a part of the healing process. It did get much better the second week after surgery and I no longer had to take the meds my doc gave me for nausea. However, today was my first bought of nausea since. I went to the beach for the first time since surgery and it was really hot. I havent been cleared to get in the Water yet so it was difficult to cool off. Although I was drinking lots of Water and keeping myself hydrated I was dizzy and nauseated. Once I got in the car with the A/C blasting I felt much better. Hope your nausea goes away soon. Can you get some meds from your doc? Keep us posted...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
