doctor screwed up notes

Recommended Posts

well, everything was going long fine, last week i went in for my last 6 month doctor diet visit. I was so happy! Well the surgerons office called me today and let me know that they recieved the notes from the regular doctor and guess what! He did not do the notes right!! He was only worried about the sugar and crap and for the first 4 months he did not put in the notes that I was there for weight loss program so I could get my surgery!! IF he is not willing to fix this I have to start over with another 4 months of visits.. He only documented May and June!! I can't stop crying, I have done everything I was suppose to do why did he not fill out the stupid notes right!:scared2::scared2::incazzato:I jus feel like goin in the kitchen and pigging out but instead think I am going to take something for this headache then just go to bed....I just dont want to deal with this right now.

Maybe you can have your doctor write a recommedation letter stating that he followed you for a supervised diet for 6 months and supports you getting the surgery. When you submit the notes and his letter, the insurance company should realize that all of the months count.

HTH.

Are his notes hand written or are they electronic? If they are electronic that happens all the time and he can easily go back and fix it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
