So, instead of going to the Gym I ate some M&M's....aaaaaah!

Recommended Posts

First time here. I was banded on 3/24/10 and have lost 25lbs. After my 4th adjustment I am feeling a good restriction. My plan was to go to the gym that is downstairs in my building and went to the vending machine instead and ate some M&M's. I felt like I needed them. This is killing me. How do I stop this cycle?

How do I stop this cycle?

By not going to the vending machine. But you already knew that.

There is no magic wand to wave and personally I don't think one package of M&Ms ever killed any one.

Next time try eating them while walking on the treadmill. There's no reason you can't do the vending machine and the gym.

I like that idea. Thanks. I am going to try it. I will allow myself a delicious snack at the gym only. I am guessing after 2 times of eating a bag of M&M's on the treadmill I won't want to do it again. A little unorthodox but worth a try.

We can band the stomach but we have to work really hard to restrict the mind. You did something I think almost everyone here has done. I know I have at least. Dont punish yourself or beat your self up about it that will lead to it happening again. Just accept it as it is and move on to the next moment. And if you do eat them on the treadmill and work up a good sweat I dont think you will want them again, just may make you sick.

Just be careful that you aren't so focused on getting the M&Ms in your mouth that you fall over and injure yourself!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
