Drasan 23 Posted June 15, 2010 Bras. They're expensive and as we lose weight they don't fit, like all our clothes. I don't want to buy new ones that aren't going to fit next month only to be repeated again. What to do? Any suggestions?
missgypsy 1 Posted June 16, 2010 good question...i'm going to have to buy some new one's soon myself. the cups still fit it's the other part thats too big...
getnthere 0 Posted June 16, 2010 I just bought 4 new ones and what I did was measure my rib cage then bought 2 inches smaller and a strap extender. This way they will last longer and I wont have to buy more in a few months. I cant afford to buy alot of new things that wont fit for long so that was my solution for the bras
Humming Bird 275 Posted June 16, 2010 Clearnce rack at Walmart. Plus size consignment shops....... Look in the back of your own dresser drawers for that bra you grew out of..........
iwokeupfat 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Wow... quite a coincidence that you would post this question. I went to Lane Bryant (Cacique) yesterday for two new bras. My old ones were just too big around the rib cage. I've lost less than 20 pounds but my old bras were very old and stretched out to the point of not holding up 'the girls' any longer. I had to break down and get two new bras. I got fitted there at the store and found a perfect fit. Two bras for $36. I lost a size at my rib cage... but the cups stayed the same. I don't think I'll change much in bra size. When you need to bite the bullet and spend the money... ya have to do it. Oh... and the new support feels great!! I'm a new person. Ninababy 5 Posted June 16, 2010 Here is my plan... I am going to get some that have a smaller band size than I wear now... by several inches.. (maybe 4 or 5)and wear an extender ... As I lose weight, I will move the hooks and then lose the extender... At least you get some wear out of the bra... over time... Just an idea
sawyer77 1 Posted June 16, 2010 Two words have solved this problem for me: sports bras. When I get down to my goal (I'm 40% there, yayayayay!), I will splurge for the nice bras, but for now, it's sports bras for me!

Just an idea If I might offer advice.... when you go to buy the extender, be sure to take the bra with you to match up the hooks. I've never been able to find an extender that fits correctly. Sounds like a good idea though. Good luck. As for sports bras... they don't offer enough support for me. I have a very physical job and I need the support. Ninababy 5 Posted June 17, 2010 Yes.. that is a good point.. some bras have 3 some 4 hooks.. you have to get extenders that match up..!!
rheaosun 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Ladies... Lane Bryant is having their semi-annual "Buy 2 Get 2" Sale. I just bought $208.00 worth of great bras for $86 (including tax and shipping). Can't beat that with a stick! Hurry the good styles, sizes and colors sell out fast.

cukiemunstr 2 Posted June 17, 2010 Another place is Ebay. I have bought several new bras with the tag still. My last bunch, I got 6 bras for $24. The won't last forever, but that's the point, they are temporary.
crazydaisy0729 1 Posted June 17, 2010 I got two new ones today at Target on clearance for about $10 each...but that doesn't beat the trip I made to Kohls today where I found one on clearance for$6 something and another for $9 something and then had a coupon for additional 15% off. I was super excited to discover the non-plus size ones actually fit me this time (I could never find plus-sze on clearance).
Windus 0 Posted June 17, 2010 If you don't mind used try joining a Freecycle Group in your area and posting what size you are looking for - people can be very generous and often you get new things that people bought and then did not wear. You can search for Freecycle groups at The Freecycle Network
