kabeerah 0 Posted December 21, 2005 I panic and I havent even been banded yet. I worry about the newness of this and what if it is long term problems that havent been detected because nobofdy has had it long enough. But at the same time I am eager to get it before it is RECALLED (I survived phen-phen)!
gentlespirit 1 Posted December 21, 2005 The thing that really gave me me something to think about is the PM from a bandster in Israel where they've been doing the surgery for 10 years or so. She said that as far as she knows, nearly everyone has had to have a second surgery at some time for various problems. That scared me.! But then I also think that this is my best chance to get control of my weight; if at some point it needs to be repaired or removed, I will still have lost weight and improved my eating habits by then. So I am weighing the possible problems against the certain problems I face if I don't do something now. And ev en with the concerns, I'm going to go ahead. I keep reminding myself of all the people who have posted that they would definitely do it again, regardless of problems. I"m leaning heavily on that! kabeerah 0 Posted December 22, 2005 yes emily, that's similar to how i feel. if i can get the weight off with no preoblems that is good. if problems set in i think i would rather have it removed than to have a 2nd surgey (after losing weight and praying that i have learned how to control myself). the good thing is that i have not heard of any related deaths. has anyone? sleepyjean 0 Posted December 22, 2005 I'm not banded yet (fingers crossed) but when I read the scary posts, I get a little panicky too and wonder if I'm making the right decision.
