fat clothes and guilty indulgences

Recommended Posts

So, for people out there who have lost some weight, I'd like to know what you are doing with your "fat clothes" as they become too big for you? Are you holding on to them? Are you giving them to Goodwill? Are you burning them ceremoniously?

Also would like to know how to deal with some guilt feelings. Yesterday I broke down and had a 6 inch chicken teriyaki sub from subway with baked lays and then for supper i had 4 grilled chicken wings and 1/2 cup of mac and cheese. I had been feeling run down and felt I needed some carbs to pick me back up (I'm on a high Protein low carb supervised diet). I even lost my mind and had 1 real coke. Now I'm beating myself up saying "You won't be able to do this stuff when you have the band. You need to get it in gear." Mind you, my first month of the supervised diet I was squeaky clean the whole time.

I have a huge amount of fat clothes. I plan to take some to a plus size consignment store, give some to goodwill and break out the sewing machine and take some in. (have already taken a few things in)

As far as the guilt. Just learn from it and move forward.

At this point there is no good that will come from dwelling on it. Just leave yesterday and proceed with today.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
