I'm beginning to see the light!

I went for a fill Tuesday, and boy! do I have restriction! I love it! If this isn't my sweet spot, I'm hoping it's pretty close! !

I have to eat even slower. I get full on even less and haven't been hungry between meals. I really feel like my band is working with me. I haven't had anything get stuck, or slimed or pb. If anyone had told me that I could get full on even less food, I would have said, not me! How often I've read about bandsters only eating burgers without the Buns, or half of something. I think I'm joining those ranks.

And you know what else? It's motivated me, and I want to exercise, because I really understand on a much deeper level that it all works together. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. Has anything like this happened to anyone else?.

It's taken me 16 months, but the good thing about the band is that I can always keep trying. It's just waiting for me to take advantage of the help it has to offer.

I love my band!

Debbie

That's great! It makes me excited for when I find my sweet spot. Just today I told my mom that I feel full of hope and am so excited to have the band. Then it crossed my mind that if this doesn't help me as much as I tink it will, I will be devastated. I know we can't live out lives like that. We just have to have faith and roll with good times. You inspire me!

Thank you all.

Humming Bird, I'll try to remember what you said about my attitude being another sweet spot. I really like that, and I'm sure it will help me.

AshleyLin, you can do it! I've still got a long way to go, but I feel more than ever that I can too.

Debbie

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
