Hi - I am 4 weeks post and have yet taken any tylenol os asprin or anything! I've had small headaches (the normal kind) and get over them with out taken anything - now I have bad cramps (sorry guys) and I am afraid to take anything - what do you all take for pain? Are there chewable asprins? or do I just smash them up and put over food?

Also - when I wake up in the morning I can really feel the port, it's kind of hard then after 10 mins it must go back to hiding - anyone else?

Thanks

I was told to never take aspirin or ibouprofen or aleve (nsaids) after banding. I had to make sure to put this info on my medical alert tag. You can take tylenol or liquid tylenol for pain.

I needed Tylenol at one point and my friend ( a guy) put them in a paper towel and smashed them with a hammer so I could swallow easily - though they tasted super awful like that. I thought using the hammer was pretty funny and still laugh when i think about it.

My doc allows me to take pills etc... I was taking all of my meds with no problem- even the big Omega 3,6,9 gels. I took giant prescription ibuprofens with no problem the other day.

I didn't have a fill until yesterday so it may be different now?? I have chewable aspirin in the house in case I need it (I'm a hypochondriac about heart attacks lol)

No aspirin or NSAIDs with a band--it increases the odds of ulcer formation.

Tylenol is fine--and most pharmacies carry a liquid. I can't tolerate pills well, but liqui-gels are okay, when I can't find liquid. They dissolve so they don't get stuck in the stoma.
