right there with you. I bought a couple the other day to try and I do not like them......

I didn't have to do Clear liquids for my pre/post diet. Just liquid, so I could do the protien shakes. I am still struggling to find those that I can take, so I can't offer much help.

I don't know what your sugar requirements are, but I buy the grape frost Isopure and add some countrytime pink lemonade to it to make it tolerable. When you are on full liquids, you can try the sugar free carnation instant Breakfast ready to drink btls and add some unflavored Protein Powder to it, to give it extra Protein.< /p>

Grape frost is my favorite too... You can add a crystal light or other "to go" sugar free packet to it if you need better flavor but can't do the sugar lemonade.

I used Unjury powder and I e-mailed the company to confirm that I could use it during Clear Liquids. They said absolutely as long as it's mixed with a clear liquid - i.e., not milk or Slim Fasts. So you could try that. Let me just say that Unjury's chicken Soup flavored powder is the only thing that got me through my clear liquids phase (which seems so far away, but was only four weeks ago). It tastes just as good as your favorite canned soup and it's a godsend when you're sick of sweet drinks! I added Tabasco and lime juice to mine when I got bored with it straight and it really, really helped. You just have to mind the sodium.

I think the Protein shots are too sweet and syrupy so I mix only half of the shot in a bottle of Water and make it into a kool-aid and I usually mix in whatever sugar free packet drink mix that will compliment it like fruit punch with the fruit punch, grape with the grape, it is so much better.

You put the other half in the fridge until your ready for it. I pretty much leave mine there.

Thank u all for the suggestions. I never thought about mixing or diluting them. I will try that and the unjury.

Thanks again,

Celeste

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
