Recommended Posts

Hey there everyone, I have had the band for six months but only with the last filling 3 days ago I have started feeling the restriction (7cc) Do you need to take anything? and is 1000 calories a day good? any advice would be much appreciated... :frown:

I take adult Centrum chewable vits. I think it is very important. Some days you may be getting everything you need from the tiny amounts of food, but I don't think it happens every day.

I either take a Centrum chewable or two Flintstone's chewables. I also take a mint flavored chewable Omega Vitamin. I think it's important to take Vitamins. As far as calories, I think everyone sets different limits for themselves. In my case I try to stay around the 1350 mark. My problem is exercise. I hate it and it hates me. I MUST get more exercise so I can start pushing these pounds off faster. It seems I'm at a stand still for a few weeks now. This fat does not want to leave my body.

YES! YES! TAKE VITAMINS! I didn't take any Vitamins for 5 mos. after I was banded and my hair started to slowly fall out! I started taking them and within 2 wks. my hair stopped coming out! I also added extra Iron.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
