get fit 0 Posted June 10, 2010 does anyone have any problem with their breathe. My wife told me my breathe smells bad since the surgery. Just wondering because i brush my teeth at least 3x a day and now I have to use sugar free fresheners during the day.
tinksmom 0 Posted June 11, 2010 Does your doctor try to get you into ketosis? I have heard that that will give you bad breath.
SuzanneG 1 Posted June 11, 2010 I agree with Tinksmom, it's probably because you are in ketosis. You need to eat more healthy carbs and the problem will go away.

loserbob 11 Posted June 17, 2010 i've heard that people who don't eat breakfast, get bad breath. do you eat breakfast everyday? try it and see if there's some positive result. goodluck I had bad breath for a little while after surgery. My dr told me it was because everything was swollen and kinda open that after the swelling went down it would go back to normal. Everything is fine now, unless of course I dont brush my teeth! Meowmie 1 Posted June 17, 2010 I too have had a problem with bad breath - a sweet taste in mouth that I can't seem to get rid of. It does make me not want anything sweet thought.
marykb 0 Posted June 18, 2010 My mouth always tastes yucky. I'm constantly taking sugar-free mints at work--especially before any in person meetings. I brush my teeth a lot at home too. I think it is ketosis. My Dr. doesn't want me eating many carbs, so I'm sure that is the problem.
BLKsAunt 0 Posted August 8, 2010 fyi-per my dentist, sugar fee mints have sorbitol...an alcohol....which is drying and causes bad breath.
