I just got back from the doctor getting my second fill.

When they had me drink the Water went down, but now that I am back at work I am spitting up/sliming/saliva.

Do you think I need to go back and have a little taken out? This didn't happen with my first fill, so I really don't have much to go on.

Thanks for the advice.

D

If your not keeping even your own saliva down, I would call the doc. for sure. I assume you can't keep Water down either. Sounds like you need an unfill.

Went in at 1:00 and they took out 1/2 cc. Went back to work and still didn't feel the best.

Went home - called the doctor at 3:30. Went back in.

Under fluoroscope - found out still too much. Took out anoth 1/2 cc. Felt better.

Now I must be swollen and nothing still wants to go down. Will call the doctor again in the morning if I can't drink by then.

Who would of thought the second fill would be so hard.

I have found that once the swelling is so bad, little unfills don't do it....needed a big unfill and Nexium for 1-2 wks (me). I hate this happened to you and I wish you the best. The good news is that the swelling will go down and you will get your fills back.

I've had 9 fills no unfills so I don't know what you are going through but best of luck with you and the swelling will go down and it should get easier to drink. Good luck.

I can take small sips this morning. I think that I will be okay. I think that I will just stay on liquids for a few more days and see if it will resolve itself.

Been there too, if you cant keep liquid down for more than a few hours you are in danger of being dehydrated and need to be seen right away, I spent a hellish night once spitting up every 10-12 minutes as my saliva would fill my pouch and nothing was going through... it may be that you are just really swollen, but you may have to go with little tiny fills from now on to keep this from happening.

I agree that I won't go with large fills in the future.

I may already be where I need to be for awhile.

Thanks for all your thoughts.

Yesterday was just not fun. I was spitting every few minutes and I got a headache because I couldn't drink anything.

I am SO much better now.

Have a great weekend.

I think that I am going to call the doctor and still have that .5 cc taken out on Monday.

Everything feels like it is in my throat. Yucky feeling.

I had to have a slight unfill after my last fill. I wrote about it in my blog if you want the details. One thing I would recommend is to drink just ice Water and cold drinks until your swelling goes down. Hot and warm liquids will actually make the swelling get worse. The PA told me that when I came in for the unfill (when I described how I closed up after having some warm broth). And, try to stay on Clear Liquids for 72 hours.

Well, even though its miserable to get too tight like this, it does probably mean it won't take as many fills to get to your sweet spot. You may already be there once this swelling goes down. I am now at my sweet spot (some days a little too loose and some days a little too tight, but overall good restriction).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
