CynthiaMTR 2 Posted June 9, 2010 Unfortunately I have not been able to get on a regular work out schedule. Even though I try to work out at least 5 times a week it doesnt always happen at the same time. Sometimes I wake up at 5:30 to do Couch to 5K, but if that doesnt happen I just work out in the evenings. Morning workouts feel GREAT, Evenening workouts feel Great too because I feel I did it even after a days work I took myself to the gym....but after those evening workouts Im soooooo Hungry. I can come home and eat the house if I could!!!!! Why!!!!! Most of my stuck episodes have been after an evening workout when Ill come home and try to eat a banana with Peanut Butter. Right now dont know if I get get stuck because of the choices I make or if its because I come home so Hungry that I dont take my time....Or BOTH!!!! Help Any suggestions for this crazy after workout hunger?????
jensmallwood 0 Posted June 12, 2010 Well, there's a couple of things. When you work out in the evenings, how long has it been since your last meal? I mean, are you eating lunch at 12, working out at 5, or are you getting in a small, healthy snack before your workout? If you're not having a snack before the gym, you might try that. An apple and a little almond butter or Peanut Butter a couple of hours before your workout might really help you not get ravenous. Another idea is to have a Protein drink right after your workout (take it to the gym with you.) If you have a light one, that's 110 calories that'll curb your hunger and give you lots of good Protein to heal your muscles after your workout. As for the getting stuck, I'm betting it's at least in part because of eating too fast because you're hungry. There may also be some physiological reaction to the workout itself, but that's just a guess. Are you cooling down after your workout?
Jachut 487 Posted June 12, 2010 If I'm going to pb, it will ALWAYS happen if I eat dinner after my workout. I simply cannot eat after an intense workout, my stomach closes up really tight for about three or four hours. I need a ticking off becuase what tends to happen is that I dont snack before the workout, vowing to eat a healthy dinner and then I dont eat the dinner, I just dont want it. So I workout hard and go without eating. Is it any wonder I'm thin but still too flabby for my liking?
