I am so frustrated. I was banded in early November and have lost approximately 50 pounds. I have been at this point for about 6 weeks now. I am exercising vigourously 5-6 times a week and am eating good. I had to have an unfil of .5 cc's about 34 weeks ago due to being too tight. I don't know what else to do. Any advice.

plateaus are a real pain in the butt but they happen to all of us. Hang in there, keep doing what you are doing, take a look at what you are eating, and measure your food and calories for a few days. Then you will have better information on how to shake it up. You may need to add or remove a few calories to get past this set point. Best of luck.

Change up your routine. Your body may have gotten used to the same routine every day.

How many calories do you average a day? If more than 1,500, try cutting it down to 1,300. If less than 1,000, try adding 200 calories.

Make sure you are drinking at least 64 ounces of Water a day.

You've lost 50 pounds!! You should be jumping for joy! Keep your chin up. It took time to put the weight on, it takes time to take it off.

I am right there with you- banded Nov 18th have been steadily losing 10 - 15 pounds a month- now I have hit the evil plateau. I exercise HARD EVERY day!! The nights I am not working I am in the gym twice a day. Still not getting the stupid scale to budge. I have changed up my routine a little added jogging instead of the elliptical. I also am HONESTLY tracking my intake and noticed ALL of my little cheats, realized I am taking in much more than I realized. Try to not keep eating the same things.

Havent had a fill yet and if this continues I guess I will be getting my first one the end of the month- Anyone know if this will help get me past this plateau??

I agree with the advice about the routine. It may be that your body has gotten used to your routine. I'd also suggest maybe if you're doing more aerobic exercise like elliptical or treadmill at a steady pace, try interval training where you go hard-easy-hard. If you're not doing strength training, that really helps increase your metabolism. If you're doing both, then try changing your workouts and working different muscles or different machines.

What's great is that you're exercising vigorously, and congratulations on your weight loss so far. It might just be that you need to tweak the program to break through that plateau. Best of luck!

You might try journaling your food and really counting calories and carbs. Up your Protein intake also. Whenever I plateau I do this and sometimes realize that I'm not eating right. I also agree that changing your routine might help. Best wishes!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
