How do you feel about tree huggers?

Recommended Posts

Now back to the original question.

I get very annoyed with all the focus on global warming.

Firstly I don't believe in man made global warming. The heating up and cooling down of the planet is all part of natures cycle. Hell without global warming we'd be stuck in an ice age.

I also don't like the fact that the focus on GW makes people forget the broader picture. They all think they are amazing if they switch off a light but have no qualms about deforestation, extinction of species etc.

People come up with bandaid solutions. E.g Wind turbines. They are ugly, noisy and inefficient and don't stand a hope of producing the amount of elec we require. Sadly by the time people realise this we will be left with a planet covered in ugly, rusting, useless turbines.

So yes I don't like tree huggers(using Bob's definition) but I have lots of time for people that genuinely care abbout the environment and all aspects of it.Not ones that are just jumping on the GW bandwagon.

One word.

Copenhagen!

Oh and finally -can some one please tell me what happened to acid rain, cos I grew up being told that acid rain would destroy the planet. It hasn't been mentioned for a long time now because obviously they were wrong.

Maybe we should take bets on what the next smokescreen environmental issue will be.

Is tree hugging a new sexual position?

I just heard from Patty that it's against god's law - says it's somewhere in Leviticus. What I'm really afraid of is that liberals will want to allow people and trees to marry. A tree once proposed to me and I said, "Ah, you're such a sap!"

Problem probably went away when clean air laws were enacted.

I have a cat, my son has a cat, my daughter has 3 cats and a dog - all rescues. We are all big animal lovers. My daughter just had her first child, my first grandchild. And I kept telling her how she would love him more than her pets. That her love for her pets would pale in comparison. She didn't think it was possible until she had him and now admits I was right.

Now, about the kittens - there is a lady with a group that does rescues. I will PM you with the info. Good for you that you helped with that kitten.

I wasnt able to recieve the message. Im not real computer savvy so Im not sure why.

It can be if you drill the holes just right.

Or if you carve it nice and smooth, well, I guess alot of women like it rough!

In the top right corner where it says: welcome loserbob, below it click private messages.

Then click "unread private messages" or it that doesn't work, after you click private messages, there might just be a list in blue of PM's - click on mine (rescue kittens).

All this tree hugging position talk reminds me of a great trashy novel I read this past winter. I don't think they were actually "hugging" the tree ..........

Good. She might be able to help. She specializes in rescuing kittens and then posting their pictures online for adoption. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
