:) After having a Health scare, and also seeing how Lap-Banding has help friends of mine ~I am seriously considering doing this.

I have have talk with the SlimBand people in Toronto, and I will an interview tommorrow with CIBO also located in Toronto. I am from Northern Ontario and I am wondering about being able to have the fills done in Sudbury. I am nervous about the fact that this will be a total life syle change forever~ I have the support of my Husband of 35 years, When thinking about this I guess "Food will be to survive NOT socialize!". I am 54 and I want to be a regular size again which I haven't been for 20 years!! Should I or Shouldn't I?

What to DO!!!

I'm a little younger than you (35), and I wish I had started this process years ago. I'm not banded yet, but I hope to be by early September.

It's normal to be nervous about any major lifestyle change, but that doesn't mean the change is a bad thing. I was nervous and scared about getting married and having children, but those are the best things in my life! :)

Just think about how your life will change for the better. Not just in terms of wearing a smaller size, but also feeling better health wise.

The ultimate decision is yours, but just think about next year. Do you want to be in the same boat thinking I shoulda, woulda, coulda?

Its nice to know that whatever your decision you have the love and support of your husband - that will help you.

I attended a presentation about having the surgery and all it will entail not too long ago + I must admit, it did frighten me a little.

It is going to be such a huge lifestyle transformation.

Eating out, holidaying, even just normal things will require so much more thought and effort.

But the thing to consider is - how bad do you want it?

How badly do you want to be "normal" again?

No drastic changes will come easily in life.

But I'm sure once you see the results, you will know it has been worth it. And I'm sure in time, things will become just a normal way of life. (At least, this is what I am wishing)

I hope whatever you decide, you will be happy :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
