trk3895 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Hello to all, I am six weeks out and I have no restriction and am hungry all thetime. I am however having a little nausea. Some feedback please. Also I am new at this and was wondering if there are any support groups in my area of Houston Texas.

kagead 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Do a search for "bandster hell" and you will find tons and tons of threads discussing this situation. Until you get a fill, you are working on willpower and it can be rough. As a caveat, my Dr. warned that some patients do not get restriction until 2 or 3 fills in so depending on how aggressive your Dr. is with the schedule and the amount s/he gives you, you may not have real restriction for a while yet. Good luck to you- kagead
trk3895 0 Posted June 7, 2010 I am having problems learning how to use this site. My doctor says he does not fill till you have lost at least 35 pounds. I flewto Michigan to have the surgery done because I paid cash for mine. This is just my follow up and fill doctor.
Sunlight10 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Wow!!!! And I thought I had problems. I had my surgery March 19th and had my first fill May 12th there was no I have to wait to lose 35 lbs first. If you could do it all by yourself you would not need the surgery. My Issue is my Nutrinest wants a little more added to my band but my Dr's office wants to go very slow. From my fill I dont feel any restriction at all; its funny I felt more before my fill then I do now. I cqn honestly say this fill Hell is for the birds. I would check around see if you can get a second opion and maybe change Dr's.
bambam31 168 Posted June 7, 2010 I am having problems learning how to use this site. My doctor says he does not fill till you have lost at least 35 pounds. I flewto Michigan to have the surgery done because I paid cash for mine. This is just my follow up and fill doctor. WOW! That sounds very harsh! I would love to hear the doc's explanation for that! It takes time to build up to a satisfactory level of restriction (ie: numerous fills) so waiting beyond the healing phase makes no sense to me... You are in the period where a lot of people actually gain weight because it is so hard to control your appetite. I'd seek other options... Brad
trk3895 0 Posted June 8, 2010 I think that I will look for someone else because I have been really hungry and my body feels the same as it did before surgery now that I have healed. I am still making right choices for food, though I am only exercising three times a week. But I have gained two pounds this past week. Its kind of scary, actually. I do not want this to be all for nothing and it breaks my heart when I read of those that have gained all their weight back. I have already lost all this weight once and gained it back. I know this is not a magic cure and we have to do our part, but I thought it would make my part a little easier.

Yep, the band should give you the competitive edge for fat loss when used appropriately. I think you have a sound approach and direction! Brad
trk3895 0 Posted June 8, 2010 Thanks to all for input and congrats to you all for your accomplishments in your weight loss journey. I checked out your Bandster profile BamBam and you must feel wonderful. Good luck to all, and I am in search of a support group in my area of Houston Texas. I really feel the need of some energetic and positive bandsters.:cursing: I was even looking for maybe a biggest loser workout group. I just want to stay positive. The only group I found in the area is one where they have all gained their weight back, how scary.
