Ladies: Dresses and Fills

Recommended Posts

This may sound like a stupid question, but usually when I go for my fill I wear pants.

I've scheduled one this Tuesday, and I'm having a picture taken, for which I'm wearing a dress. (I do wear them to work a lot, but when I have a chance to walk on our track it's easier to wear pants. Maybe TMI, sorry.)

I prefer having my doctor doing the fill as opposed to the nurse practitioner, whom I'm not crazy about .

Anyway, my question is, does anyone find it awkward getting a fill wearing a dress and hose? I've been thinking about this today, and it really sounds silly asking, but there it is. :)

Debbie

Well hes already seen you naked right?!?! lol buttt I wouldnt feel comfortable doing that. If you are, go for it! If not, bring a pair of sweat pants or shorts and throw them on before you head on in.

I agree with Nean. At my last fill a sweet little lady came into the waiting area, where I was sitting, she had forgot about her fill when she dressed that morning and put a dress and full slip on. She was embarrassed and even more concerned that she might make the doctor feel embarrassed too. I would do as Nean suggest, take some pants or shorts and slip into the bathroom to change.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
